The Serbian National Register of Internet Domain Names (RNIDS) would like to inform the public that ICANN Board of Directors is having a meeting at the moment and that we have been informed that the extension of the .YU domain for the maximum period of 6 months has been approved, under conditions that RNIDS will subsequently be informed about.
The Managing Board of RNIDS will bring a decision about the deadline for canceling the remaining 4,000 YU domains after getting the final decision from ICANN. We will inform the public about this in a timely manner.
RNIDS is the organization managing the national Internet domain .rs and is also responsible for managing the old .yu domain. ICANN is an international body managing Internet domains at the global level and bringing decisions about delegations, that is introducing and canceling national and generic Internet domains.
